The outer rooms have been transformed into a dining room and kitchen, which have a view of the park outside. These rooms nicely frame the center of the apartment, which has been converted into a flexible living and lounge space. The kitchen is dramatically colored in black, with bronze detailing and American walnut highlights. Most of the interior doors are made of glass to allow light to travel.
Fully utilizing natural light was a big priority in envisioning this home. Five different shades of gray are the centralized palette, with differing levels of gloss playing the light in strategic ways. Windows on one end of the living space fill the entire room with light, assisted by well-placed mirrors. The herringbone wooden flooring and light gray concrete floor also increase the visual size of the space.
